IAPP Event in Geneva. GDPR twenty-months on, 114 million EUR fines so far.

Our consultants have been attending the IAPP (International Association of Privacy Professionals) knowledge-net events organized by the IAPP Switzerland Chapter.

We were privileged to be part of spirited and informative discussions, where leading experts gave first-hand views about processing customer voice data of telecommunications service providers. Legal experts from government bodies explained the differences between the newly-enacted Swiss FADP (Federal Act on Data Protection) and EU-GDPR, especially in areas of trans-border data flows and adequacy decisions for Switzerland-based organizations. The new FADP ePrivacy Regulation and future guidelines require companies to develop a new sensitivity towards the handling and protection of personal data.
