The International Conference on Internal Controls, Compliance & Risk Management took place in Amsterdam on March 3–4, 2026, bringing together SAP customers, partners, and industry experts to explore the evolving landscape of GRC and digital risk management.
Riscomp was pleased to participate in the event, contributing to discussions on how organizations can enhance collaboration, leverage technology, and maximize the value of their GRC investments.
Human-Centric GRC in the Age of AI
Chris Johnston’s reflections on human imperfection and AI closed the conference and perfectly framed its central theme: GRC is about enabling people, with all their flaws, to collaborate and capture distributed knowledge about processes, risks, and controls.
AI cannot yet read and interconnect minds, so full automation is not possible in all areas. The success and acceptance of GRC initiatives — as well as the achievement of GRC goals — heavily depend on how easy and intuitive human collaboration across the three Lines of Defense (3LoD) is.

3 LoD Collaboration as a Key Success Factor
The genuine excitement of Frederike Breitenbach and Eugen Soydas from Deutsche Börse illustrated this point: users became noticeably happier and SAP GRC’s mass-update capabilities were expanded.

A similar message came from Merck’s case study, presented by Dina Mingaleeva and Alyne Rangel Large: large organizations cannot avoid optimizing collaboration around GRC framework, its quality, and consistency. This is a key precondition for maximizing GRC value.

Riscomp Master Class Contribution
In the master class “SAP GRC 2026: Master Your Master Data and Maximize GRC Value,” Maxim Chuprunov covered the technical GRC background, business value drivers, and the solutions mentioned above.
Closing functional gaps with Riscomp applications is essential for SAP Process Control and SAP Risk Management customers — as demonstrated by multiple companies empowering their 3LoD teams with state-of-the-art GRC technology.

The first conference day ended with an engaging networking evening at a cozy venue, offering a great opportunity to exchange ideas and connect with peers from the GRC community.
