Rise with SAP – Safe and CompliantWe are happy to announce that the new 2025 version Framework Update Apps for SAP GRC was released! Based on 2024 improvements cycle and shaped by close collaboration with our customers, this update brings several new features that enhance the usability and performance of the app.
Background Mode for Template Download and Upload
- Challenge: Central teams often need to monitor quality, ensure consistency, and handle mass updates or entire local data, or even to manage migrations. With large SAP GRC systems containing often up over 30,000 local control instances, performance issues were a concern: since complete framework documentation had to be loaded into the template, customers had to split data selection in several chunks.
- Solution: The background mode allows to trigger template generation, with end user not having to wait for results, and conveniently picking the template once it is generated. Simulation and productive uploads can be done in background mode as well. All actions are done in front-end.
- Benefits: Quality and consistency checks, as well as mass updates such as control creation, text and attribute changes, regulation or risk assignments, and other changes are now ensured when central teams handle them in one go for the complete ICS framework. Efficient handling of large data volumes ensures smoother operations, and better achievement of GRC goals in the end.
Extended Template Support for Risk-Based Approach
- Challenge: Some customers using qualitative risk assessments, e.g. as a part of their scoping process, were able to maintain risk assignments,- but could not review the risk values in the template.
- Solution: The template structure was extended to include new fields for risk values—impact, probability, and overall level— allowing SAP GRC customers to fully adopt a risk-based approach as part of ICS.
- Benefits: “Control” maintenance app provides comprehensive insight into complete GRC framework and is often used as an alternative to reporting. Full risk visibility is ensured now, empowering customers to visualize and analyze Coverage of Risks in ICS effectively.
Clipboard Functionality for Organizational Units
- Challenge: Users authorized to maintain data for many organizational units sometimes need to mass-select them, which they can do adding individual organizational units to the list, or using the option to Add with children (selecting an organization and automatically including all of its sub-organizations), or by Search for specific organizational units to quickly find and select them. However, picking individual organizations distributed across several nodes can still be time-consuming.
- Solution: The new Clipboard functionality offers enhanced flexibility in managing organizational units. Users can Copy & Paste selected units from e.g. an Excel Sheet, streamlining the process and eliminating the need for manual re-selection.
- Benefits: Allows for more efficient handling of recurring update cycles for multiple organizational units, as selections can be saved and reused.
The background mode and clipboard functionality were added to the “Control Maintenance App”. Same features will be added to the “User Maintenance App” and “Control Referencing App” apps as well.
